3D is still a different experience when you watch it on a genuinely large screen. A good 3D presentation on a small multiplex screen can be enjoyable, but put the same movie on a 60-, 70- or even 90-foot screen and the scale makes a big difference.
India now has a handful of large flat screens that stand out for their combination of screen size, laser projection, Dolby Atmos and 3D.
Here are 10 screens that are worth knowing about if you’re looking for a big-screen 3D experience.
1. Prasads PCX – Hyderabad

It’s difficult to start anywhere else.
Prasads PCX is simply enormous. At 98.6 × 64 feet, the screen is far larger than what you normally see in a multiplex. The auditorium uses dual Barco 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos, with Dolby 3D available for supported titles.
The unusual 1.54:1 screen also gives it a lot more height than a conventional widescreen auditorium.
If your idea of a great 3D experience starts with “give me the biggest screen possible”, PCX is the obvious choice.
2. Dolby Cinema – Allu Cinemas, Hyderabad

Allu Cinemas’ Dolby Cinema is another screen that doesn’t mess around with size.

The screen has a 1.85:1 flat aspect ratio, making it particularly interesting for movies that make good use of the taller frame.
For someone who wants a large screen without compromising on projection technology, this is one of the strongest options in India.
3. EPIQ – Broadway Cinemas, Coimbatore

Broadway Cinemas’ EPIQ is one of those screens that really deserves more attention outside Tamil Nadu.
At 70 × 37 feet, it’s massive. The screen uses Barco 4K RGB laser projection and Dolby Atmos, while the EPIQ setup supports active 3D.
The 1.89:1 screen also gives movies a much taller presentation than a standard 2.39:1 scope screen.
If you’re in Coimbatore and a movie is playing in 3D here, this is a very easy recommendation.
4. EPIQ 1 – Vetri E-Square, Thanjavur
65 × 34 ft | Barco 4K Laser | Dolby Atmos | Active 3D
Vetri E-Square has something pretty unusual — two EPIQ screens.
The larger EPIQ 1 measures 65 × 34 feet and uses Barco 4K laser projection with Dolby Atmos. It also supports active 3D.
For a city like Thanjavur, having a screen of this size with a modern laser setup is a big deal.
5. EPIQ 2 – Vetri E-Square, Thanjavur

The second EPIQ auditorium at Vetri E-Square is slightly smaller, but 61 × 32 feet is still a very serious screen.
You get the same basic EPIQ approach — a tall 1.90:1 screen, 4K laser projection, Dolby Atmos and active 3D.
If EPIQ 1 isn’t playing the movie you want, EPIQ 2 is hardly a compromise in terms of scale.
6. EPIQ – E-Square VJ Happiness Street, Pune

The EPIQ at VJ Happiness Street in Hinjawadi is another impressive large-format screen.
It measures 59 × 31.2 feet and uses a Barco SP4K-40B RGB laser projector with Dolby Atmos.
The 1.89:1 screen makes it particularly interesting for movies that use an expanded flat frame.
7. EPIQ – ART Cinemas, Hyderabad

Hyderabad has another strong entry on the list with ART Cinemas Screen 6.

It’s not anywhere near the size of PCX, but 57 feet is still a very large screen for a regular multiplex environment — and the EPIQ format makes it particularly interesting for 3D movies.
8. EPIQ – Rakki Cinemas, OMR

Rakki Cinemas’ EPIQ on OMR is another screen that deserves a place here.
The screen measures 57 × 30.1 feet, with Barco RGB 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos. Active 3D is also supported.
For audiences around OMR and the Kelambakkam side of Chennai, this is one of the more interesting large-screen 3D options.
9. EPIQ – Palaxi Cinemas, Kozhikode

Palaxi’s EPIQ screen measures 57 × 30 feet and uses Barco 4K laser projection with Dolby Atmos.
The technical setup makes it an impressive large-format auditorium, although 3D availability should be checked for the particular movie/show rather than assumed.
That’s an important distinction when comparing 3D-capable screens, because not every EPIQ auditorium necessarily runs every title in 3D.
10. R-EPIQ – Radiance Cinema, Rajapalayam
52 × 27.5 ft | Barco Laser | Dolby Atmos | Active 3D
R-EPIQ at Radiance Cinema in Rajapalayam rounds off the list.
At 52 × 27.5 feet, it is smaller than the screens above, but still offers a considerably larger presentation than a typical multiplex auditorium.
Barco laser projection, Dolby Atmos and active 3D make it a good large-format option for audiences outside the major cities.

So, which one is the biggest?
That’s an easy one: Prasads PCX is comfortably ahead.
But if you’re choosing purely for the overall 3D experience, screen size isn’t everything. A modern laser projector, proper 3D system, screen brightness and sound can make a smaller auditorium more enjoyable than a much larger screen with an older setup.
And one final thing: 3D shows depend on the movie and the particular show, so always check the format before booking.
For me, if the movie is actually worth watching in 3D, PCX would be the first choice simply because of the sheer scale. For a more modern premium presentation, Allu Cinemas Dolby Cinema is the more complete package.
