Best IMAX Screens in Bangalore: Bengaluru currently has six IMAX screens, but there is quite a difference between them. Some have bigger screens, while others have newer projection systems. So if you’re planning an IMAX show, choosing the right auditorium can make a difference.
Here’s how the IMAX screens in Bengaluru stack up based on their screen size, projection and sound setup.
1. PVR Nexus Koramangala – IMAX XT Laser
60 × 32 ft | IMAX XT Laser | IMAX 12-channel
Koramangala is the one we’d pick first.
The screen measures 60 × 32 feet, which isn’t the biggest IMAX screen in Bengaluru. But what gives it the edge is the IMAX XT Laser projection and 12-channel IMAX sound.
Most of the other IMAX screens in the city still use dual 2K Xenon projection, so the laser setup makes Koramangala a more interesting choice, especially for movies with demanding visuals.
If you’re simply asking, “Which IMAX should I book in Bengaluru?”, this is the easiest recommendation.
2. PVR Vega City – IMAX
62 × 32 ft | Dual 2K Xenon | IMAX 6-track
Vega City’s IMAX has one of the larger screens in Bengaluru, measuring 62 × 32 feet.
It uses the older dual 2K Xenon setup with 6-track IMAX audio, so it doesn’t have the projection advantage of Koramangala.
But if you prefer a larger screen, Vega City remains a very good option. The extra screen size is noticeable, particularly when you’re sitting in a good central position.
3. PVR VR Bengaluru – IMAX
62 × 33 ft | Dual 2K Xenon | IMAX 6-track
VR Bengaluru actually has the largest IMAX screen among the city’s current options by the dimensions listed here.
At 62 × 33 feet, it is just a little taller than Vega City’s screen.
The downside is that, like Vega City, it uses dual 2K Xenon projection and 6-track sound.
So this one comes down to what you value more. If you want the newer projection system, go for Koramangala. If you want a bigger screen, VR Bengaluru is worth considering.
4. Cinepolis Nexus Shantiniketan – IMAX
56 × 30 ft | Dual 2K Xenon | IMAX 6-track
The IMAX at Nexus Shantiniketan is smaller than the three screens above, but 56 × 30 feet is still a decent size.
It uses dual 2K Xenon projection with 6-track IMAX sound.
For people living around Whitefield and East Bengaluru, this is probably the most convenient option, and there isn’t much reason to travel across the city if the movie is playing here and you have good seats.
5. INOX RMZ Galleria – IMAX
55 × 29 ft | Dual 2K Xenon | IMAX 6-track
RMZ Galleria has a 55 × 29-foot IMAX screen.
The technical setup is similar to most of the other older IMAX auditoriums in Bengaluru — dual 2K Xenon projection and 6-track IMAX sound.
It’s not the biggest or the newest setup in the city, but it’s still a proper IMAX screen and can be a good option depending on the movie and available seats.
6. INOX Mantri Square – IMAX
53 × 28 ft | Dual 2K Xenon | IMAX 6-track
Mantri Square has the smallest screen in this particular Bengaluru IMAX lineup, measuring 53 × 28 feet.
It also uses dual 2K Xenon projection and 6-track IMAX audio.
That doesn’t mean the experience is poor. It simply doesn’t have the screen size of VR Bengaluru or Vega City, nor the laser projection of Koramangala.

Which Bengaluru IMAX is actually worth choosing?
If you’re after the overall setup, we’d go with PVR Nexus Koramangala because of the IMAX XT Laser projection and 12-channel sound.
If screen size is your priority, then VR Bengaluru and Vega City deserve a look.
And honestly, don’t ignore the seats. A slightly smaller IMAX with a good central seat can be a much better experience than sitting too far to the side or at the back of a larger one.
So our order is:
Koramangala → Vega City → VR Bengaluru → Shantiniketan → RMZ Galleria → Mantri Square.
The ranking is based on the technical specifications and overall setup, not simply screen size. Specifications can also change when cinemas upgrade their equipment, so it’s worth checking the current format before booking.
